JUSTIN NYWEIDE

Founding Partner & CIO

Justin Nyweide is a Founding Partner, CIO and member of the Investment Committee at HMI since inception. Justin also sits on the Management Committee. Prior to HMI, Justin served as a Principal at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) – Fixed Income, a $12+ billion credit-focused investment affiliate of KKR based in San Francisco. Prior to KKR, Justin worked at GTCR Golder Rauner, an $8+ billion private equity firm based in Chicago. He began his career in Leveraged Finance at Wachovia Securities.

Justin earned an A.B. with Honors from Harvard University and competed for both the varsity swimming and varsity baseball teams. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Retro Report (an education-based nonprofit based in New York). He previously served on the Board of Directors of The Center for Investigative Reporting / Reveal (a journalism nonprofit based in California). Originally from Chicago and a former San Franciscan, Justin now lives in the Greater Boston area with his wife and three children.
